Living on the Lake
Under the direction of Christina Kolb, with Kowalske Kitchen & Bath, this lake house in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, was remodeled to meet all the homeowners' requests.
The Mr. of the house requested a sandwich fridge in the
island for his favorite lunch items - meats, cheese, pickles,
and condiments.
Entertaining family and friends was the top priority for a couple nearing retirement. A new larger island provided plenty of room to prep food while accommodating six seated guests and space for gathering.
Since this is a lake home, the owners wanted to use shades of blue in the design and take advantage of the gorgeous lake view. The casual lake living design flows throughout, with navy hues, gold hardware, detailed woodwork and beautiful tile. The doorways were widened and a wall opened up to allow more light and a view of the lake to penetrate the previously closed-off kitchen. Every part of the remodel fulfilled either a form or function and in most cases both.
